What would your anti-piracy measure be if you made a video game?

  • There's a reason people despise games with required internet connection. It inconveniences everyone who buys the game, as well. You can't play them after the servers get shut down; you can't play them if your internet is down. You can't play them if the servers decide to break randomly; you can't play them if your internet is being weird. Required internet connection is absolutely hated amongst the gaming community, at least for single player games.

    • My game would be so popular that people would be willing to put up with it. In small print somewhere I'd also mention they're only paying for a subscription and I can update the game how I want, or remove it entirely.

      • That's how you get to be known as absolutely obnoxious when it comes to policies of that variety. It's not a very kind thing to do. That's how you end up, years later, with a free remake of your game that everyone claims to be way better than the original, in most regards.
