  • Israel would be justified in doing so. After all how long has Iran been threatening to wipe Israel off the globe? It would cause World War III. But God is not going to allow any serious harm to Israel. It's just biblical.

    • God would allow harm to israel because god allowed harm to palestine and back in older days when the bible was created it was all palestine so you are wrong. Besides, if america didnt support israel by giving it 30 billion in a decade (when we still owe soo much to china) iran would have beat israel badly. Remeber lebanon because those guys are really smart and have kicked israels ass twice.

  • The news that day would be more interesting than usual, that's what.

  • Israel has bombed Middle Eastern countries before (and for the same reasons I think you're getting at here). But the scale of Western involvement in the past two decades has changed the picture somewhat. I think Israel is threatening action against Iran to force the West's hand and to make us act. I have sympathy with Israel's position but picking on Iran right now is not a wise move.

Furthermore by actually going and doing it to galvanise us into action, they're making a huge assumption that we will commit vast resources to a campaign against Iran. There's no guarantee that this would happen, leaving Israel in a very vulnerable and dangerous position indeed. And against a country that either already has, or soon will have, nuclear weaponry; a country that has already suggested it would wipe Israel off the map.

    • Good response.

In the mean time Iran continues on the path that will enable it to Wipe Israel off the map and strengthen its ties with Russia.

It would be interesting if NK and China strengthened their ties with Iran. If Russia and China had a vested interest in Iran's nuclear ambitions to the point of being partners the situation would be very interesting indeed.

      • It's a good point. Although nuclear material could come from anyone who has it, either with the knowledge of the government or not. In the 1990's, the British government happily endorsed the sale of a supergun to Iraq (to be used against our own troops). The American government also profitted from the tension between Iran and Iraq by arming first one, then secretly telling the other what weaponry their neighbour now had and offering to sell something to deal with it. Then going back to the first and repeating the trick.

  • What if we stopped giving a fuck about the middle east? Life would be better.

    • Not for them. It would be a fuck of a lot worse for them. They'd all die, for one thing. For me, just living in another country and growing up in a different culture doesn't stop me from caring if you die or not.

Even if you only care about saving your own arse, bear in mind that half the middle east could nuke America if it really wanted. You should be scared.

Do you realize we've already lost the lives of 5,000 U.S. troops in the "War on Terrorism." Maybe you should try to empathize with them.

        • Do you realize we trained these "terrorists" (at the time they were "freedom fighters") to combat the russian influence?

Do you realize that they turned after they realized we were the same as the russians?

Do you realize the USA is the largest exporter of weapons and terrorism in the world?

Do you realize most of the dictators in the middle east rose to power because of USA's support?

It's all coming to bite us in the ass now that we're running out of cash.

        • US Military Casualities in the Iraq War: 4,459
Iraqi Civilian Casualities in the Iraq War: between 100,000 and 1 million.

I'm empahising with both sides, but 100,000 people requires more empathy than 5,000.

The US Government has *some* conscience. Providing international aid to poorer countries prevents them from forming anti-Western ideas and makes them less of a threat to America in the future. It would be fair to say that keeping as many different countries which could be a threat to America "paid off", there is less chance of large scale terrorist attacks against Western countries in the future.

But no, I don't want the Americans to support the Israelis. I *would* like them to support the Palestinians, but that is never going to happen.

"Your quality of life diminished". Can you prove that? There is no reason to presume your life would be any better if the US didn't take part in wars in the Middle East.

          • Can I prove that? It's called inflation and inflation tax. I could explain the intricacies to you of funding all these wars since the early 1900s and it's affect on the economy, and value of the U.S. dollar, OR you could just listen to Ron Paul speak a few times. He knows more than me on the subject so suffice it to say that's your best bet.

I couldn't really give a crap about the Iraqis. But that fact is, that we did what we supposedly intended to do there, which was force our democratic policies on to them.

Starting a war with Iran now is opening a whole new can of worms.

      • Then go join the peace corps or something you bleeding heart.

I'm sick of having my quality of life diminished because the US government would rather provide billions in foreign aid, and tens of thousands of troops in policing the world when we're already a trillion dollars in debt to China.

Obviously you're too dumb to understand the world, probably cause you're some kid.

  • Don't worry about it just suck each other off whenever you get the chance. Men or women, just do it!

  • Massive casualties on both end. Then the US will come along to bring "democracy" and "freedom" and send the world in an economic crysis that will last 100 years and another great depression! But hey, the US will get some resources and military companies will be even more rich!

This above is, naturally, the scenario without nukes.
If Iran and Israel fire the nukes, the US and Russia will follow. Those two world superpowers just love comparing dicks when it comes to military! Boom, world - game over! Have fun buying real estate and moving to Mars as the Earth will be uninhabitable for 60-100 years (probably more)

Now I should mention. This is without giving it a lot of thought. If I have to get technical here. I will need to read about both sides's military potential, diplomatic relationships and everything. This is a rough outlook on the whole scenario. Still, can't be far off from an accurate prediction.

  • You're not that far off. Our pres. has demonstrated with actions that he doesn't support Israel the say we used to. Remember they've always been our closest ally. But we have done nothing but disrespect them from day 1 of the current administration. Israel knows they can't trust us. They'd be wise not to tell us anything, and they havent survived this long by being stupid.

    • Listen as a Christian I love the bible and what it preaches. But this and one other thing are the only things I disagree with in the bible. Israel is an incredible nation with a great economy and beautiful views however it says that the land belongs to Israel because of its religious beliefs... Right? Well you can't disregard the fact that there are 2 very important mosques that belong to Muslims and both were "visited" by prophet Mohammed and prophet Ibrahim. Have you read the Quran? It has the same story's as the bible they are just a little different. Prophet Muhammad and prophet Ibrahim are 2 of the 5 most important prophets in Islam and if Israel deserves the land because of religious beliefs than so do the Muslims.

      • If you are a Christian then you know that Isaac's son (Jacob renamed Israel)not Ishmael(Arabs), was promised the land by God. It is Israel's land. It doesn't matter who else would try to deny it.

A Christian knows Israel is His people and we Christians have been grafted in. Ever heard of that expression?

The bible only is the Word of God. Did you say you're a Christian? Let me ask you... Do you believe Jesus is God in the flesh? The Son of God? Your answers will reveal if you're a Christian.

        • Answer this: If the Israelites believe the land is theirs because their holy "abraham" was promised that land by god. What about in the quran when it says how "ibrahim" (the muslim version) was promised that land? Why do the jews get the land not the muslims?

          Comment Hidden ( show )
            -
          • Because the promise is through Isaac not Ishmael. Abraham had two sons. Ishmael(Arabs) was the son of the bond servant Hagar. Isaac was the son God promised to Abraham and Sarah in their old age. The bond servant and her son did not receive the promise, it came down from Isaac to Jacob.
What does koran say about Isaac and Jacob(God's people Israel)?

  • Untill you find me some direct evidence please leave biblical history out of this. What i am trying to ask you is to explain to me how lebanon managed to fight off the enemy twice when it was was poor compared to israel. When it was weak compared to israel. When it was nothing compared to israel. I was sitting in church one day and me and the preist were discussing how lebanon managed to fight off the enemy. He told me that he thinks that maybe even angels decended from heaven to protect lebanon.

      Is that what you want?

Are you familiar with Genesis exodus numbers deuteronomy?

If you don't believe what's written in the bible about God choosing Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob(renamed Israel read the bible) and God fulfilling his promise to give them the land of Canaan, then I can't debate with you.
You are disputing what is written in the bible calling God a liar.
Have you read(again in the bible) what the borders of Israel are supposed to be? To the Euphrates(read in the bible)
What part of what I just typed do you not believe? All of it?

As you can see all my proof comes from the bible, do you need chapter and verse?

You cannot dispute the biblical history recorded in the bible. You can't change it either.
You are like the public education system trying to rewrite history.
Even the Lebanon thing- do you not know that Israel responded after provoked? Wasn't there a soldier kidnapped (Shalit was last name) out of Israel? You probably don't know why Israel retaliated, but Israel will attack when provoked. They are not the aggressors although the Israel hating world would have you think they are.

  • @nogoodusernames:

Israel is not trying to take anyone's land. It is their land and they can build anywhere on it. It really did a lot of good to give away the Gaza; they went in there and destroyed everything. Just a bunch of throwback terrorists who won't be able to share. They want all of Israel and to kill all Israelis. But it's a religion of peace, right!

Did you say you're a Christian? How is it you don't know Israel is God's Chosen? Do you believe all the bible or only some? What about Canaan and the LORD giving them that promised land do you not understand? You obviously don't believe the Word of God.

Israel lives in constant rocket attack threat mode.
By the way Israel doesn't want any other land, but they'd like to live in theirs in peace.

    • Lol did you say israel is not trying to take anyones land? Personally, i would not be angry if israel kept the land it has. But it should stick to what it has. Go get maps from every year starting 1990. You will notice israel is getting bigger. You would also notice that there are less palestinians. Fine, let israel keep theyre land. But it needs to stop commiting its war crimes. That is too cruel

  • I have read the bible because my family and i are religious. But i feel that some churches brainwash children into thinking that israel is this holy land when its really not.
Personally, i like because of your intelligance. However, go to israel and see what they actually do. And, lebanon is a peacefull and intelligant country and has not started a war on any other country. But israel has and lebanon which is the real holy place managed to fight it back both times

  • No one will defeat Israel especially not Lebanon, what a joke!
Again, if you believe the bible as you say you do, and if you're a Christian like you say you are, then you know that Israel is God's people and He will defeat all her enemies.
Heard of Armageddon? When most nations including your loved Arab alliance, Russia, and China will attack an Israel who has let her guard down during peace. Even with the whole world against her, the LORD will defeat them.
Israel doesn't need the USA. We've already turned our back on her.

All Israel needs is God, who sent them away captive, but had mercy and brought them home again. To never be removed again.
Read all about it in the bible.

    • I do beleive is the bible and my uncle is even a preist but you are wrong. Israel is surronded by enemies but the enemeys that tried to attack israel were weak. If a country like lebanon or saudi arab or even iran attacked israel and israel didnt have the 649 billion dollars that america gives it the they would easily defeat it. You simply cant deny that israel is the enemy because after the arabs tried to attack, they left it alone. But israel kept attacking them and they had every right to defend themselves. Why cant israel just take the land it has and be happy with it. Or it could even steal theyre land but not any one.

According to you how does someone become a Christian?

  • You need to brush up on your biblical history.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob gave the promised land (Canaan) to Abraham's descendants(Israelites). God gave the land of the Canaanites to Israel under the leadership of Joshua. The walls of Jericho came down without a shot fired. God fights Israel's wars for them, that's why all those Arab nations together couldn't take the land God gave to Israel. Israel is surrounded by her enemies on every side. And Ajad in Iran threatens to wipe them off the map although it will never happen. Who do those tyrants think they are that they don't recognize Israel's right to exist? Israel will still be left standing after God deals with her enemies.

  • @nogoodusernames: I'm Christian and as a Christian I know Israel is the promised land to Abraham and they are God' s people. I believe only the bible, the word of God. My God is not the god in koran; not hardly. Next thing you'll say the terrorists on 9/11 were doing God's work. Right.

Lebanon beat Israel twice? Did they occupy Israel?
But Israel when provoked took the Golan Heights when all those Arab nations challenged her, defeating them all. Don't mess w God's people.
America has turned its back on Israel and we''re in decline because that and basically telling the God of our father's we want nothing to do with him.

    • 1) the terrorists that did 9/11 were not muslim. If they were truly muslim they would have not done that because killing is a sin and forbidden in islam.
      2) lebanon did not occupy israel and israel is the country that starts all the war
      3) in the Holy Bible god never directly said that some cruel people were going to murder hundreds of them and steal theyre land.
      4) israel started the war on lebanon both times so it could steal its land like its already doing with palestine

  • Are you christian or muslim? I am christian. But i have read the quran many times and the bible and the quran are extremly simialar. And the quran mentions the story of abraham but its tweaked in the bible. When god mentioned the holy land he did not mean israel. God meant palestine. And yes the blessing did go through jacob and that is mentioned in the quran. However, you went wrong when you claimed the holy land was israel.

According to the prophets of GOD, once Israel returned to their land they would never leave it again.
    Any of this sound familiar?
The day came in May of 1948 that Israel became a nation once again in 1 day just as it was prophesied by God's prophets. No country has been able to push them off their land, and no country will ever be able to do that. God told Abraham that he would bless those that bless you and curse those that curse you.The lineage of Jesus Christ was Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah. And Jacob's new name given to him was Israel. This can all be found in the Bible in Genesis. This won't be helpful if you do not believe the Bible though.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Are we reading out of the same bible? Or are you reading at the Koran? God told Abraham to leave his family and country and go to a land that he would show him. At 100 years old God gave Abraham and Sarah a son named Isaac. The blessing came down through Isaac. Isaac had 2 sons Jacob and Esau. The blessing came down through Jacob who was later named Israel. The Israelites were taken captive by the Babylonians because of the rebellion and sin against God. But the prophets prophesied there would come a day when Israel would go back to their land.

No i have not forgot the 6 day war and i had a feeling you would mention that. And multiple countries combined couldnt defeat israel? Incorrect. Egypt put israel in its place. Lebanon put israel in its place TWICE and israel is still picking on it. Lebanon has to have at least 5x's less the weapons that israel has.

  • I apologize in advance to the people who will take offense to this comment.
I am a Calvinist, a Christian who believes in Supersessionism and Covenant-Theology. I will address this in a moment. I am part of the Sojourner Christianity movement, meaning I believe that social justice for all was Christ's secondary goal, with worship in him and the father as his primary goal. Christian's today, on a mass scale, fail to realize the importance of human rights. Worse, Christian and Israeli Zionism has set the irrational belief of Dispensationalism into the proverbial stone of most Protestants mind's. This idea fosters the notion that Christ/God has not ended the covenant with Israel, meaning there is still significant importance of the physical Jerusalem. As a Calvinist, I believe that Christ's Sermon on the Mount was the establishment of the blood of the New Testament, meaning the Old Testament becomes irrelevant when it contrasts with the New Testament.
With this said, I would like to assert that I have little enthusiasm for the despotic and oppressive state of Israel. I call it a state of the U.S. because the Israel Lobby has significantly influenced our legislative decisions. This is not a bad thing, it only becomes a bad thing when this faith-based monopolization of multiple industries is used to push an agenda that promotes the genocide of hundreds of thousands of people. In a sense, Israel has become the new Nazi Germany, ironically. Israel treats Arabs, Christians, and other people who adhere to a faith other than Judaism as second class citizen. As a Christian who has visited Israel on a devotional mission, I would know. Additionally, there is a massive wall separating the 'borders' of the Great Nation Israel and poor little Gaza Strip and West Bank. Political-socioeconomic Apartheid is happening, it is real... and it is a crime.
With this context, I would like to answer the initial question. If Israel happened to bomb Iran, Iran would most definitely strike back, this catalyzing the domino theory establishing a World War One alliance system, leading to the death of hundreds of millions of people... leading to the next world war. I believe WWII already happened (The Cold War), but whatever floats your boat.
