I'm American, and I spell a lot the English ways. Colour, Centre, Humour, Neighbour, etc.

Like nicholas is not niklaus or however they spell it. That one drives me up the wall. Proper english is important and those Brits got better english than us tea dumpers

They are both correct spellings. You can use both in a sentence it just looks weird to those reading it.

It’s an English word and according to the English dictionary it’s spelt colour. It’s not our fault the Americans can’t spell properly

I'm English too, dude. Lloyd's right both are correct. It's not like some retarded "Pidgin English" where no one respects it.

The American spelling is widely enough used by capable enough people to push it into the realm of authentic English, just a different version.

Have you ever heard of the idea that dialects are separate languages? I like that idea, because it allows for no speech to be discounted. For example, Black English is a different language than American English, which is a different language than British English.

Dialects are for spoken language not written.

Yeah. But it’s called English because we, the English people, invented it.

Yet english lacks a governing body for language. French is actually a regulated language that bureaucrats slowly expand the french dictionary. It's so regulated if you went back to the 17th century France you more or less would speak the same. English changes over time if you went back in time you would barely understand the grammar.

'Culler', if we're going for phonetical consistency, but at least 'colour' shows the word's etymological past

Both are wrong, it's spelled "culler."
