What will you do if you can travel back? For me I don't dare to change as I am afraid something even worser would happen, just like the butterfly effect.

The eating of monkey meat is what spread HIV to humans. It's called,
"Bush Meat". Primates are a natural reserve for the virus. However, it doesn't seem to have any effect on them.Ebola is a natural reserve in bats. They bit monkeys which passed it on to them. If someone eats monkey or bat, they'll be at risk. Apparently, even handling bat can cause infections.
In Africa, most likely in the improvershed areas (because, that's all the media wants to focus on) there's actually the belief that if a man with aids has sex with a baby that they will be cured of aids. Instead, the virus spreads to the baby. And, the man believing himself to be cured, spreads it to other partners.
There are two patients in question where people believe that HIV/aids originated: Paitient X is the most commonly believed to have been the first. Whereas, some claim that there was a young black male who came before him in the 70's, I think. The boy was gay and he had many partners. They believe that he had the symptoms for it.
And, there are some that believe Plum Island to be responsible for HIV/aids, Lyme Disease, etc.
