Thing is, the current civilisations rely on technological advances too much. What happens if the technology that they will probably use to make this prediction, fails?
I doubt that we'll need technology to make a prediction. We are all making our own predictions right now, as is the point of this poll. All we need to do is reach an argreement, and we know what to avoid to prolong civilisation. However, IIN is technology, which renders my point somewhat flawed. All technology will fail someday, as it gets replaced most of it will become useless, much like civilisation.

I agree. Kids can use the hell out of an iPad but throw them a blank sheet of paper and a pencil and you get a look of utter confusion.
