What was your SAT score?

  • I work in education and the impression is that they'll become more widespread internationally. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. The education system here allows you to cut out what you're bad at, at a much younger age. Sounds like a good deal, often isn't.

    At 14, I chose five subjects and had four imposed on me (maths, english, physical aducation, and religion). At 16, I chose three and had none imposed on me. At 18, I chose one (no minors here). What this actually means is that out of the four things that were imposed on me at 14, I was able to drop all of them at 16 (and did drop three out of four).

    For SATs to be relevant, our educational system would also have to move into line with the American model. I am completely undecided on that, having equal arguments for and against.

    What I do know, though, is that I'd love to know what my SAT score would have been. If there's a way of me sitting the test, I'd do it tomorrow. I love tests.
