  • Mine's a bit not normal.

(this first one is not the best but I must mention it) I did have a few memorable times as a child. Probably the best was when all of us guys and girls, all the same age, all friends, were walking down a wide road together next to each other. It was just a perfect moment, all friends happily taking up the entire road walking side by side along the road.

Probably the best time in my life was when I became a sole parent when the kids were 3 and 4 years old.
It started out sad (and angry at her for leaving us) because I ended up throwing away a really good well paid career (seriously I was more than well off for a long time). Anyway, I had no idea at that initial time that when I was able to be with my kids everyday doing things like the beach; snow; all attractions (zoo etc); every school function and you name it, was the best time ever. But the one that stands out above the rest was just being in the park and enjoying riding bikes and kicking a ball and just mucking around.

Once I realized that this is way better than a career and money (that with losing my newly designed beach house and every bit of money I ever had, and well to this point where I am definitely in poverty for the last few years) I was (and still am) happy that I was so privileged to be with my kids whilst they grew up.

I feel sorry for other Dads (and obviously also career Moms) Who are presently missing out on what I had for so long. Remember at the time, I thought it was the worst thing ever, it became the best life memories I could ever ever have. The cost of poverty was worth every cent :)
