Maybe she was anxious. Maybe she was thrown off by a question like that coming out of nowhere, maybe she didn't know why you were asking her of all people. Maybe she thought you were trying to make a joke or thought she was missing something.
What I'm saying is, get comfy with the idea that you'll probably never know. What other people think really isn't your business (usually), ya know? She probably didn't think about it much at all after it happened and honestly I don't think you need to either. She didn't do anything wrong and neither did you, it seems, so it's really a non-issue in the end

oh no... actually it was faq. almost repeated every year in exams so she probably didn't think that its a strange question.
