That sort of thing usually backfires. I'm sure there's a back story, as ItDuz mentioned, but it's not your or anyone's place to dictate what another holds true in the confines of his or her heart and mind.
It's best to let it go and try to get over it. Accept that you're powerless over the thoughts, emotions and actions of others, but you're not helpless. You can decide what you want to do with and for yourself. Be mindful and hold your thoughts captive instead of letting them run away from you.

I have acknowledged that the way I bring a point across isn't the most agreeable of methods.
Wouldn't it be nice to do a mind meld like thing to show someone your point of view and have them empathize with you?
