I think i can relate. I was crushing on someone recently that was pulling at all my (male) maternal instincts AND, had a smile and activities to match with my own on some level.
I tried, didn't exactly get shot down but i keep feeling like I'm stepping in territory that i don't belong. She probably has a boyfriend/girlfriend (who knows these days) or probably already married or probably still thinking about someone else/involved with somebody else.
I want to say, tell him how you feel and see how he responds? Don't get your hopes up but, if you really like him i don't think there is harm in One casual date or conversation.
Is there an age difference? I would normally be concerned about age because i wouldn't want my husband/wife to die and leave me alone. Then again, maybe you two are just that compatible?
Put the crush aside and see if you are, build the relationship based on that. If there is an age difference, don't let his judgement get the better you, your father might say that to you.
