Clearly she's going out of her way to ask this question because she's asking for help on the situation. It can't get clearer than that. The boy is confusing her and she doesn't know what's good for her. She may have interest in this boy, but she has no interest in ruining his relationship with his current girlfriend. The fact that she put choices like "ask him out" and "kill the girlfriend" shows me the underlying feelings of the situation. All of the possible choices, except for one, support possible relations between them. She is looking for reassurance to move forward with this boy.
