Well next time you're being attacked in your own home, let's see how fast these cops can get to you. In all likelyness, the criminals would of already done what they wanted and left.
...So your logic here is that you should just le yourself be a victim, because your insurance will handle it? What happens to the person that victimized the person? They will not always be caught, and insurance will not help everyone.
...so your logic here is that it's better to play action hero than to do things the safe way, even though your lawsuit and the psychological damage from killing someone is far more costly than getting insurance.
Sure, they will not always be caught, but sometimes they will. If you kill someone out of self defense, you might say it was an accident, but you have no guarantee that the cops will believe you. There's a good chance you'll end up in jail. Cowboy times are over.
Insurance will not help everyone, not the people who buy insurance, at least. But I think you're better off with buying insurance than buying a gun. Don't assume you're an action here who's capable of subduing the bad guys.
Who said anything about killing someone unless needed?
What if someone with a gun came in to kill you, not to rob you? Is your insurance going to cover that?
What about people that don't have insurance?
How about holding them at gun point until you phone the law?
Ah, ok, sometimes...Aslong as they don't come your way again, right?
There is a little chance if it became legalized. A chance, but not as big a chance at you're making it seem. And again, you don't need to kill them.
Technically, anyone can "subdue" criminals, if they had guns. Don't assume that criminals are master minds and super villains that are unbeatable. The only reason why you think someone can't subdue a criminal is because there isn't a method to without "protection". So yes, I will "assume" to think I can because they're only human.
You consider the risk of murderers entering your house great enough to buy a gun, but you think it's still too small for you to buy insurance?
Dude, I've been robbed before! I know that there's always a possibility of something like that happening!
Guns aren't for protection, they're for killing. If you want protection, go buy yourself a decent alarm system. that's hardly more expensive than a gun. And trust me, as soon as the alarm goes, the robbers are out of there, and you don't have to risk your life.
What's with this idea that you have to be a law enforcer? You are only human as well. Those robbers aren't unbeatable, and you are neither. Do you really want to take them on and getting yourself killed? You've watched way too many movies.
You are not a cowboy, and you most certainly do NOT want to be a murderer. Leave the criminals the police, that's what they are for.
What's your opinion on gun control?

Gun control doesn't mean lawlessness. It's not up to the citizens to take the law into their own hands. That's what we have a police force for.

Yes, I've been robbed before. I let them take my stuff, and my insurance covered it. I got out of it unscathed, without using a firearm.
It's very dangerous to assume you can handle guns better than criminals do. You're needlessly bringing yourself in danger if you carry a gun.
