  • Minute Maid makes the Simply brand, Coke owns it, I guess.

Yeah, I always make sure I'm buying 100% juice (except for limeade). I hate how they sell 'juice drinks' as juice, blatantly tricking people (although people really should be reading labels). It's nothing more than Kool Aid with a drop of fruit juice in it. The sad part is people buy it thinking they are making a healthy choice but really it's no different than drinking a soda.

I'm a label reader all the time, but unfortuantely most people aren't, and boy is it tricky even when you do know how to read labels. It's sad that when it comes to food labels, they still try to be so decieving and make it so dificult.

Side note, I remember back when food didn't have the Nutrition Facts on the package! I remember when they made that labeling law, also when products weren't sealed! It was when someone was putting cyanide in Tylenol in the 80's that prompted sealing products! My parents, back in the 80's, used to send me into the store to buy them cigarettes when I was as young as 6 years old! Crazy world not so long ago!

    • Yeah, the world has greatly changed.

It makes me sick how these companies put all of these additives in the foods.
Jave you ever read about the side effects from artificial sweeteners? It's disgusting. I'm allergic to artificial sweaters and preservatives like BHA. I had to stop drinking Kool Aide, because of it. The last time I had it,my throat was suddenly on fire! I felt like I had eaten pulverized glass and I was chocking. It was horrible! I tried drinking something else to stop the feeling and it took about an hour or so. I refuse to touch that stuff...

I'm constantly reading the label. I usually only focus on calories: nothing 300 and above. Try to avoid anything in the 200's, etc.

I use to eat a lot of Stouffer's faux lasagna: the four cheese and the vegetable.
I kept ignoring the calories and what the guy said in eat this not that. Anyway, I finally stopped when my heart kept hurting and someone suggested that I was probably the cholesterol/fat. I haven't touched that shit since!
It baffles me that people don't read the labels and want to be obese. What the fuck is wrong with people?!
