  • Why must a person subscribe to some pre-packaged set of ideas? To Hell with sub-cultures. Nay, to Hell with culture in general. My definition of the word "culture" is: What occurs when people are too afraid to have their own values, goals, interests, and artistic tastes and thus merely imitate their peers. I am uncultured and proud.

    • Well, a subculture is kind of like saying that you don't belong to the larger, most popular ideal. I don't know of anyone who doesn't fit into any defined subculture, whether they want to or not.

      • That is rubbish. When you see a bunch of teenagers walking down the street all dressed in the same black band t-shirts with chains laced to their pants and their hair dyed unnatural colors, that is not a coincidence, they are conforming to their subculture on purpose.

        I am immune to culture.

        • They're children, they don't count. They don't even know who they are.

I'm sure you fit in with somebody.

There's posers everywhere, I understand what you're saying. But in the end, everyone has a place, whether you like it or not.

          • Then my sub-culture has one member: me.
