It wasn't fun at all; we were on holiday in a different country (it wasn't a tropical bug or anything, just something I managed to catch in the airport) so I missed a week in the sun and because I was bed-ridden and didn't get to go outside I never adjusted properly to the jet lag which made me feel even worse. I think it only took me about a couple of days to get back to my full appetite afterwards, but I don't have a very large appetite at the best of times.

Ouch, that doesn't sound fun at all. Did you have to refeed yourself gradually afterwards, or was it easy to eat normally again?
