What's the best way to move to the uk from the us?

I don't have a degree, I'm 30 years old but I could go for a degree abroad because I have zero intention on staying in this country another year or two at most. I'm dead set on moving out I don't care about how difficult it is, I just want suggestions if any of you have any?

I'm aware the UK is strict in that you need a degree so I know I'd most likely need one unless someone has another suggestion to work there without a degree? Because the cost of studying would be high in much of the UK but I am willing to find ways to create a larger savings through work or other means, take out a loan, etc. I am literally willing to fight my way to get to work and live there. My best friend lives there but they're limited in knowing how I approach this.

Any input is GREATLY appreciated.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Your best bet would be to find a website dedicated to immigration to the UK. Half the people on here seem to think immigration is a simple as just buying a plane ticket. Funny how they object to it the other way round...

Obviously, the official government sites will be most useful, but finding a forum of people who are also seeking immigration can really help, too, to go through all the little details.

Anyway. Idk what a reputable forum for UK immigration is, but visajourney . Com (which is for US immigration) may have some knowledge for you, or be able to point you in the right direction.

We don’t need anymore immigrants, we’re full to bursting as it is.

Immigration isn't a problem when it's handled correctly by the politicians. The problem is our politicians have historically fucked immigration up royally.

If someone speaks English, has transferrable skills which are lacking in the British jobs market, and has a job to come to where they can use said transferrable skills, there should be no problem with them emigrating to the UK.

Brexit should allow the immigration issue to level itself out over the next decade if we get it right, but it's a slow process.

There are more and more people moving to the UK every year. We don’t have the infrastructure to support them.

Like I understand why some people might dislike the usa but the us is mind bogglingly giant! Dont like the specific area you are in? Theres a place with drastically different climate and policy than your area that you can move to with little to none paperwork.

They also speak english. Use the same currency. Have varied societal groups in the area with various influences. Has practically every climate covered. Also if you are penny pinching there are a ton of budget states to go to. Food is always varied but going off of the same staple foods. The culture is generally determined by which immigrants went around and set up or live in villiages, towns, and cities.

I would include canada and australia as good alternatives for America.

I don’t know the fine details of how to obtain citizenship but start preparing for the test sooner rather than later, from what I’ve seen of it it’s pretty detailed. Also I’m not sure why you would want to come now when our handling of corona has been awful, we’ve been in lockdown for nearly 4 months with no clear end in sight.

Save up as much money as humanly possible, don't let yourself or any of your family members get injured, and take a flight on British Airways from JFK New York to Heathrow.

A number of countries in the world allow foreigners to enlist and serve in their Armed Forces, which provides a path to citizenship after you serve a term (typically 4-6 years) as long as you are not dishonorably discharged. I know that the USA used to do this (I met some of these people when I served).

That's an option, and likely does not require a college degree.
