I'm only young so I don't want to completely shave or wax down there because I don't feel the need to but I really hate leaving my hair to grow. It gets all gross and I dislike the feeling but I don't know the best way to trim the hair. I don't own any electric clippers or anything so it's kinda difficult. What should I try?

electric shavers avoid tissue damage and infected hair follicles. waxing is a better choice as it removes hair below the skin and hair that regrows is finer and easier to wax . but trying to look prepubescent is kind of pedophillic
If you're a girl let everything grow. I love natural hairy. The hair feels good on my penis.
I usually use scissors, you can trim it to whatever length you want. Careful with those though! Trim cautiously. I wouldn't recommend shaving it clean off. It can get irritated and you're more likely to cut yourself on accident. Scissors should do the trick.

Truthfully, I don't know. I tried to remove my pubic hair when I was in my teens with a regular shaving razor. I could only do the uppermost half out of fear that I would injure myself because I just couldn't see the area well enough. Waxing might be better, but it's very painful.
I don't know if you're a male or a female, but I'm a man and I use a SMALL eletric clipper (battery powered).
You want a small one, a big one can catch on the loose skin down there (ballsack or vaginal lips) easily.

If you live with your family and your dad has an electric shaver, you might be able to use its beard-trimmer function, but it would be understandable if you find the idea of using something belonging to your father down there a little squicky.
Scissors are really the only other alternative, and as you've apparently discovered, that's awkward. And using sharp, pointy metal blades near your most delicate and sensitive bits isn't a great idea.
Don't losten to nick, use an electric trimmer. The us a razor and shaving cream if younatr looking for bald.
