Obviously buying cars, but before that I'll talk about something else.
Seeing my dad after a successful open heart surgery 5 years ago. He now has an artificial valve. And seeing him alive and well after surgery brought tears of joy in my eyes. True, he was still immobile, had wires and tubes attached to him, doing all manner of things, but he was conscious. And despite being weak, he shook my hand and winked at me. I was very relieved and very happy. Needless to say, he recovered fully and is now happy and well, probably fishing down at the lake near the house right now XD
Now - cars.
Buying my E420 Mercedes. It was a dream come true. I've had pictures of that car for years and even downloaded mods in games, so I could drive it. Paying for the actual car, sorting out the paperwork and being handed the keys felt amazing. Looking back at the hard work I put in and the money I saved. My dream car was now in my garage...
It was no longer a dream, it didn't have to be a bunch of pixels on a screen anymore... now it's in my garage, the keys are in my hand and it looks just the way I want it. Metallic black, AMG-body and AMG wheels. I modded it to 420hp and now I'm even more proud.
That sexy beast of a car is in my garage and my name is on the registration document. Feels awesome!
Only bummer is I only get to drive my E420 when I'm on vacation in Bulgaria. The mods I've made to it are illegal in Western Europe...
Getting my first car is also pretty high up on the list. My 2005 C220 Mercedes - now a garage princess, living a cushy and well deserved life as a weekend car.
She's been with me for 8 years now in good and bad times and for 6 of those years - she has been a daily driver, taking me everywhere, providing warmth and air conditioning and sheltering me from the elements. She has become a friend.
And finally, buying the super cheap S600. I saved that car from another abusive owner, or the scrapyard. I felt very happy with my purchase.
I'm working on restoring that tired old S-class to former glory. She will once again become a head-turner.
What's one of your happiest memories?
