What's going on with this download of gta 4?

I downloaded GTA 4 for the PC from somewhere, and when I opened the game, it was asking me for a serial number and something else. Some links took me to Rockstar's website.

Of course, I don't actually have the serial number or anything, because this was an illegal download.

How and can I bypass that and just get into the game?

    Oh man, your such a noob... Don't be looking for help on this website. Just be sure to apply the crack and turn off the FXAA feature on advanced settings on your Nvidia card if you have one, this last one is very important on this particular game. Try a repack of GTA IV if you can't even copy paste a crack and install Rockstar social club. I've downloaded and played hundreds of pirated games. I'm not going to be helping you any further, use your brain dude, Google is your friend.

    that game came out 9 years ago so I imagine it would pretty cheap to buy these days.
