It should be taken seriously but because drinking coffee is such a part of many cultures it isn't.
I stopped consuming caffeine when i was about 20 in an attempt to sleep better. I drank coffee (and tea which had caffine, i don't know what thats called , black tea?) every day since i was a young teenager.
I never went bacķ except once when i was offered a cup by an old friend who i didn't want to offend ( he was old school and would have thought I'd turned wierd if I'd said I'd stopped) this was a terrible experience. I hadn't had any caffine for more than 5 years when i drank it i became very jittery and a bit shaky, i felt terrible, i had to hamg around longer than i wanted because i wasn't confident that i could drive properly until the effects wore off.
Anyway , I'm sure you can find a book on quiting online. I don't know but Allen Carr, author off Allen Carr's easy way to stop smokimg, probably has written one.
What's everyone's thoughts on caffeine addictions?
