wooooddd. The steel rides ive been on compared to the wooden I liked wooden waaayy more. It gives more of a rush, it's exiting. steel is too safe, too 'glidey', if that makes sense.
Wooden roller coasters just move too much, it hurts. As opposed to most steel coasters which deliver a smoother ride.
I like Roller Steel Coasters more. I like wooden one's for it feels more rickety and almost like if I'm going to fall off. Brings more of a adrenaline rush if you get what I mean, especially the fast ones (all rollercoasters should be fast). Yet I'm an adrenaline junky so I shouldn't be talking.
In terms of material, wood ones worry me more since they are less sturdy. Wood has a tendency to rot, split and burn. Steel while being more sturdier, is prone to rusting. Personally, I wouldn't ever go on a roller coaster again as I have a phobia and the last time I almost got on but at the last moment I thankfully managed to make a run for it, hitting my head in the process. The whole ordeal ended in tears for me.
I am fine with wood ones, I've ridden them many times. I like steel more though. It feels more trustworthy and is smoother, but is very exciting to ride still.
I feel safer on steel. I realize they are all engineered/tested for safety, but the "rickety" feeling of wooden coasters really bugs me. It can sometimes give me an upset stomach, too.
