I included that exception because I foresee problems with parent/child power imbalances. I think it could be far too easy for a parent to manipulate such a situation to their own advantage, and I don't like the idea of that. Older siblings and uncles may also have similar power imbalance, but not nearly to the extent of a parent, I don't think. Then again, that's just my opinion.
Also you should notice that I did actually use that "ew gross" statement when I warned you that I'm NOT the type to use that argument. It's just not a valid argument at all.
yep, i know, i referred to the "ew, gross" not being a valid argument, which seems to be the "point of argumentation" for many people in the other thread. thankfully, not you, but as i'm defending the unpopular opinion there, still it serves to deflect quite a lot of flak :)
Yeah, it's very rare that rational discussions about these things get properly discussed because there's always such a visceral reaction to it. I honestly think if we could set aside that "ew gross" mentality, society would be a more rational place.
