    Mid to late 80's...those rhyme songs that had the hand-clapping like Miss Mary Mack, Miss Suzy, etc. The string tricks (cat's cradle I think was one). Paper fortune tellers, MATH/MASH fortune tellers.

      Ms Suzy, as in "Ms Suzy had a steamboat, the steamboat had a bell, when Suzy went to heaven, the steamboat went to hell-o operator, give me number 9..."? Yes, I remember that one too.
