Do you have allergies of any kind? If you have allergies then the better choice would definitely be the poodle, because huskies shed more than cats. Also ask yourself how much exercise you're willing to do, because Huskies have lots and lots of energy. A beautiful dog that was bred and born to pull a sled for miles in the snow can be quite a handful especially if it's not given proper exercise!
Definitely do your research about many different dog breeds if you're planning on taking a look at dogs in a shelter, because you never know what you might find.
Regarding poodles they are great dogs, and many people refer to them as hypoallergenic, but no animal is completely hypoallergenic. However, the issue with poodles is that they are very high maintenance as far as all that hair is concerned, because they require regular professional grooming, and you may even have to consider eventually learning how to groom your poodle should you decide to get one. On a very good note in regard to hair poodles don't really shed compared to other dogs, so as far as shedding is concerned poodles and huskies are polar opposites.
Smaller poodles can have a reputation for being kinda yappy, but this is very much less so with regard to the standard poodle. If size is a concern there are several different varieties of poodle sizes that might fit your lifestyle.
Whatever you do make sure that you do your research, because owning a dog is a lifelong commitment. Dogs are man's best friend for a reason, and a dog is better able to read the moods, body language and facial expressions of a person than another human can. Dog's are amazing creatures! Try not to be in a hurry, do your research. Be open to getting a dog either from a reputable breeder or a shelter, and please feel free to ignore and dismiss overly opinionated people with political agendas who might try to push you in on way or another, because this is your choice and you have to live with it. It also helps to let an individual animal pick you to some degree, make sure there's chemistry and that ya'll are compatible.
I wish you all the best in your quest for a new best friend!
P.S. My personal favorite breeds are Shetland Sheepdogs and Rough Collies. I also really love Doberman Pinchers and Australian sheepdogs, but thanks to my sister and her dog I've become very fond of Poodles too. My boyfriend however, has a thing for Chihuahuas.
