Fear of insects is actually quite interesting. The biological world would come to a hault without insects. For one, pollination would cease to exist.
I read a study about why humans are so inclined to fear insects; we are often attracted to animals that we can anthropomorphize...and we are incapable of attributing human characteristics to something so dissimilar...do you ever wonder why pop cult representations of aliens so closely resemble insects? Humans are biologically programmed to fear the non-mammalian characteristics, but for good reason, as there are many venomous/poisonous insects.
I'm ranting, but I find it interesting. You should read "sex on six legs"...fucking fantastic book.
what is your phobia?
