  • I have none. I would not expect a person who dressed differently or put a label on themselves to behave any differently to someone who did not to those things. I would not even put a label on them myself subconsciously.

Emos are people, and nothing more or less. People need a way to express their thoughts, and emos often seem to choose a way to do it which unreasonably upsets some people.

Some people think they are foolish attention seekers, and we ought to hate them. I see it the other way around. Even if they are attention seeking, I would want to support someone who needed attention, give them the attention they need. I wouldn't ignore them and make the problem worse.

  • To me, they're the type of people that wish they have deep life problems, when in reality, what they class as a "life problem" is something the majority of people would call an average Monday.

They want to have problems so they have something to pretend to be depressed about.
I know some are actually depressed, but the majority are just putting on an act so that they feel different and unique, which is the opposite of what they are.

They aren't mysterious, they're probably one of the social groups that are least mysterious and has less problems.

I've grown up around alot of people from different social groups, and the emos I have encountered have all been fake "i have problems" type of people.

They think nobody understands them when most people do, they are the ones that don't understand that we understand how attention seeky they are.

      • I agree 'emo' is usually a phase that teens may go through, as i did myself actually. though it didn't last long, i simply moved on to better things.
but i do disagree about them not really having problems. being in the subculture for a while i met some pretty fucked up kids, and most of the issues related back to their parents. one girl i knew was raped, another is abused by her parents all the time, many come from 'dodgy' households where the parents aren't looking after them properly.
though that doesn't go for all 'emos'. it's just another group where people can feel they belong.

        • i agree. But tell you the truth most of the emos in my HS were from middle class families; many of whom were very much intact. I found that the people with the worst problems were the ones trying to hide having problems.

      • Yep. Most emos are teenagers afterall.

  • it depends whether they ACT like a stereotypical Goth/emo. i myself dress Gothic but i am not at all depressed, but when someone starts talking about 'how dark their soul is' and cuts themselves because they think its cool, those people make me laugh. stereotypical Goths i can stand, because their not looking for attention, but when some crying emo pussy comes and complains to me about 'conformists' and n-dubz i tell them to get the fuck over themselves.
sorry if that offended anyone, and sorry for the rant:/

  • I find them very odd, that's all I can say about that.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • They're just people who choose to express themselves via the way they dress, so I don't really have an opinion on them based on that. I'd base it on the actual person in question.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Just people that dress differently and get stereotyped as annoying whiners.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Please don't group goths in the same class as "emo".

Some people do have real problems and just happen to dress like that while some are fake. Don't judge them all by what you're told they are supposed to be.

  • Honestly, I think they're all attention whores that like to make up bullshit stories about their "problems". Does Emo even exist anymore? I sure hope not.

  • Emos are gay

  • It's stupid to label people because of how they dress. Who cares?...

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • I don't hate them but I think someone should really talk to them, because life can be beautiful no matter what happened:)
(and most of emos them are people who have everything, which i dont understand :s

  • I worry about a big group of people who think it's acceptable, sometimes even cool to self harm. That's not all emos, just some of them.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • emos are kids who make small problems into large ones, its like their bipolar with life in general. but they want ppl to know they are sad and depressed so they express there selfs by outward apparence, but most have small probs live with their parents, and no nothing of life and no jobs...
