I think it depends on who the person is, and who the animal is.
Rapists and child molesters are worth less than cockroaches. I'm dead serious. I'd rather see a rapist or a child molester completely annihilated than see harm come to one of those Madagascar hissing cockroaches from the pet store.
My cat is more important to me than most people on this planet. As far as I'm concerned the average canine officer is more worthy of life than a violent criminal.
basically you should read peter singer. he believes that one day animals will have the same rights as humans. i think that people discriminate against animals because they cannot speak, but they are amazing creatures. i think god put dogs on this earth to make us happy. animals love people with no conditions. just amazing. peter singer points out that their are many ways to satisfy hunger and nutrition requirements that make it unnecessary to use animals to eat at all. he also points out that no species needs to be used.
They have none. Depends on where you are in the world but your pet is actually their food.
