Trying weed and alcohol at that age is typical of most people. It's not socially acceptable, but it's normal. The rest of the stuff is not. Everyone thinks they can do the other stuff from "time to time" and quit anytime they want. Problem with that is this. Every crackhead (or meth head or burn out)is someone's daughter or son. Every crackhead is someone's Dad or Mom.
Keep in mind that it CAN happen to you. My uncle was a crack head. Always told me he could quit and go months without doing it and it wouldn't bother him, and he could go months without a problem. Problem he had is that when he would get down in the dumps he would "just do it once" to help himself feel better. He ended up hooked on it and offed himself. Guess what, he was a normal guy that had a sister, brother, etc.
