I think I have a great personality when I'm in my good moods.
I pay attention to every little detail. For example at work there's a fairly new manager who everyone hates. I could tell why but I also concluded from observation that that is just her personality and it doesn't seem like she means to be a bitch. So when she says something 'bitchy' I don't take offense. (There's a point where it's not okay though.) I'm also aware of my own problems, emotionally speaking, and will give myself a break if I screw up on something. That's the only way I can survive.
I have a coworker like this. She is a bitch, plain and simple. But once you realize this is her personality, you start to see the other qualities that are truly amazing. She is a strong woman and takes no shit from anyone.
It took me a while to see past this personality trait. I'm glad you are able to do this with ease.
