    Costumes!

And parties. Halloween parties are really relaxed and flexible and allow for more creativity, unlike turkey day, Chrimbus or 4th of July where you kinda have to adhere to certain expectations and serve specific things. Or Easter, you pretty much have to decorate and hide eggs (wtf??? I don't even get it?).

I just love the entire mood. Everyone dressed up, decorations, watching scary movies. I usually don't even do anything special lol

I love horror movies but I feel like in the past 5-10 years, the film industry and the tv networks have really dropped the ball. I think the last horror movie I either saw in theater or bought that was big around Halloween was the Texas Chainsaw remake. They used to run marathons of horror movies on tv. I am always checking and hoping for something good every year around Halloween. Been so disappointing lately.

I feel you, I rarely see anything good in theaters. I just saw two good fairly recent ones though: The Invitation and Hush. Both on Netflix

Oh, I watched Hush...it was good! That was early this year, like in January I think though.

I watched Clown on hulu or netflix and it was pretty good...funny while being a horror movie. I thought the actors and writers did a goood job of it. I watched one called 'Bad Ben' I think, it was really dumb but I couldn't turn it off...and the 'fuck my life' quote stuck with me....the basement he has looks just like mine. Weird.

Seeing the hot, older teen girls dress like sluts and go door to door "as a joke", and driving guys crazy. They're the only ones I open the door for if I get any trick or treaters. Tight-bodied 17 or 18 year old girl dressed like a hooker. Other than that..I hate Halloween..

That doesn't actually happen in real life. The ones who dress up like hookers are the 35-50's. Younger than that don't really give a shit about halloween. Neither of these groups is going door to door either.

Pry yourself from thine keyboard and thy porn and snap thineself into reality!

I love haunted houses, mazes, etc. Every year I go to Knotts Scary Farm, Universal Studios Horror Nights, and others. This year soon I'm going to the 17th Door which is one of the most extreme horror mazes.

    The candy.

I'm too old to trick or treat and I have no children, but I still like eating candy on Halloween.

I dressed up, as an adult, and some people would not give me candy. Made me really bummed out. Well, I wasn't exactly an adult when this first started happening, I was like 16 and it seemed like about 50% of the houses we hit would not give me candy even though I was in costume, had a bag and was with my little brother. I mean, they would literally pass out candy to all the outstretched open bags except mine. Weird.

No wonder teenagers get so mischievous on Halloween! They're probably upset from getting candy rejected!

BUT WHY PASS UP THE CHANCE TO GET CANDY!!!!!!!

      • Pumpurrnickel

Because you can easily buy candy at a store instead of running around and having to interact with people to get it.

i love halloween.. just everything about it. im in the student council of my school. and we were supposed to have a halloween thing planned ( note, im a first year studying at an arts school)
i was veeery excited about decorations, music, food we could serve. all the exiting little things we could have done. but. it was all cancelled. because not enough people can be there to put out the decorations and actually put up a party. so they just said, not enough people to do the work? no party. and im still mad. i could have done it all alone if i had to :(

When I was a young teenager, I overreacted and stepped on the hand of someone who was pretending to grab people's ankles... the person turned on all the lights and yelled at me. They actually made me sit in a chair for an hour lecturing me about not hurting other people.

I do like the haunted houses. The real part I really enjoy, since I am a crossdresser, its alot of fun going out in town dressed in dress and pantyhose, etc. The first time I ever did that felt so different walking down the street.

I don't like the kids who keep showing up at my door and bothering me every few minutes when I'm watching television. Most of the time they are completely unsupervised by their parents or legal guardians. Totally dangerous. And they are learning from a young age that it is perfectly fine to accept gifts from strangers, which is not the message that any responsible adult should be preaching in this day and age. Also these kids are just spoiled brats. You can't win with them. Ask them to take one piece of candy and they grab as many as they can in their grubby little hands and run away like little jerks. Give them each a piece of candy and they visibly express disappointment that you are not giving them their favorite piece of candy. As if the world revolves around these tiny brats. On the bright side, I am a dentist and Halloween usually means busy season for the oral hygiene community.

I learned the trick is to smile widely, be cute and friendly, and always say thank you. Most adults would give me extra candy for being polite πŸ€—.
.... my mom never lets me eat the candy though, she said there could be razor blades in them.

She would let me eat candy from our neighborhood because we knew them. If we went to a strange neighborhood i couldnt eat it cause we don't know them.
