  • Ok, it's very puerile from my persepctive, but you don't really need my validation or anything like that. But I am "on the opposite side" and I reject all these theories.

    • Well, you are free to see it anyway you so choose, but my cat is more important to me than the majority of the human race. I honestly don't see it as childish, or all of that unusual.

      • I find it extremely bizarre. Humanity is much more valuable than cats, but I assume you suffered from mankind and you reached this conclusion as a result. I wish I could undo/compensate for some of the damage you took.

        • I didn’t really want to say anything on this sub-thread, but I agree with you completely, DDaviDD.

I want to make it clear I understand Rose’s and IrishPotao views, and I agree that pets generally won’t hurt you like humans, but they don’t offer the same benefits as other people do. I say this as a person whose early life was faced with constant bullying and rejection, so I know it’s easy to want just reject others in return, but I still it’s more useful to have friends with humans.

          • Animals WILL hurt you worse than humans and they WILL kill you if they have the opportunity. The animals they talk about is a tiny minority of them, and they aren't dangerous (most of the time) because they are tamed. I oppose this "animals are better because some people were mean to me". Let's be serious for a minute...domestic animals have no consciousness so they can't use it to do pre-planned harm. Is that what you call better? Then objects are better too, because they have no life so they can't attack us. Let's just have sex with trees instead, I've heard some people are into it nowadays.
