Did you forget to say, "dressing"?
If not we need more Ambrosia salad love. The 70's green maraschino cherries, mini marshmallows, canned pineapple, sugared mayonnaise and walnuts need some modern aknolwegement.

      A proper caesar is lemon, garlic, anchovies, and parmesan.
      
      On croutons and romain lettuce. And lots of black pepper
      
      Was made in Mexico City. Not Italian.

Is this about the salad itself or the dressing?
I like spinach and chicken with wallnuts and almonds, with a light honey and vinegar dressing... and a bit of cranraisins on the side.
