I believe it's not only defined as women who have (a lot of) sex with (a lot of) people, but also woman who dress and carry themselves in a certain way that makes the OP feel like they look like sluts.
On another note, you say "Having sex a lot makes a woman a slut, and not having sex makes a woman prudent." I'm not sure you purposely meant to only mention those extremes, but just wanted to put out here that there is also the 'only have sex with current boyfriend' type of woman.

Yep, that was me. Always wondered what I was classified as. Granted, now I am married, so that boyfriend is now husband. I LOVE sex (2-3 times a day) but I usually have it with only one male at a time, in a relationship (in this case within a marriage). I would also have sex with good friends but that was rare.
Still wondering what I would have been or would be considered o.o
