What is wrong with women who have babies.....

Strangely enough this happens quite a bit in my ER. Ugh.

I didn't mean to sound bitchy or anything, it's just that I've talked to a surprising amount of people, both men and women, who are positive women can get their period while pregnant. They even argue it with me and treat me like an idiot. It's like they know what really happens, so don't confuse them with the facts. I was just trying to get all my facts out at once. I'm really sorry if I sounded like a total bitch, though. I reread what I had posted and realized a lot of it seemed like I was just being rude, so I'm sorry again.

That's what I meant spotting so they may feel like they are having a lite period. It happened to me twice during my last pregnancy. Once before I knew and again when I was three months and it lasted a couple of days but baby was fine but scared the life out of me.

Hard to believe

i read about a women who didnt know she was pregnant until she was taken to the hospital for cramps which were labour pains. however she was an extremely large lady and didnt even look pregnant because she was so fat. who knows, the baby might not have had enough room to kick or anything. but yeah it is possible.

Having been pregnant several times I wonder the same thing. How could you NOT feel a foot being jammed against your ribs?!!!!!

Some women genuinely don't know they are pregnant up to about the 5 month Mark as they can still be having a period and no known side effects of pregnancy or they may have messed up periods anyway. Therefore they don't suspect anything.

I just have to say that it is impossible to have your period while pregnant. During a woman's period, the lining of the uterus that had been formed expecting a baby is shed. If the uterus of a pregnant woman shed it's lining, she's having a miscarriage. Some women do have some spotting which can be mistaken for a light period, but it isn't an actual period. There is something wrong if a woman has enough bleeding to be mistaken for a regular period, she's either having a miscarriage or something happened that could seriously harm or kill her, the fetus, or both of them. It really bugs me when people say that pregnant women can have their period.

Also, some women may have a disease that can mimic the symptoms of pregnancy so they write off the signs as symptoms of the disease. Women who have been told that they can't get pregnant will also sometimes not pay attention to the symptoms. I'm not sure how they ignored someone kicking them from the inside, though.
