  • My hell in school was team sports, I hate working with other people, you tell them what to do and they don’t listen, then when you ignore them right back you’re “letting the team down”. The anger, the stupid referees, the physical aggression, it was all bullshit. This was all played outside even in the windy rainy UK winters, but god forbid I didn’t feel like playing sports with a bunch of cunts in the freezing downpour. I’m “letting the team down!”.

The number of lectures I got from primary and secondary school teachers about my poor participation, they spoke as if they were in a movie scene trying to inspire me to win the Olympics, it was ridiculous.

They tried threats as well as encouragment, when I was 15 a PE teacher once told me he would “have a word with [my] mum” about how I didn’t try in Softball. Because in the middle of her child’s GCSEs that’s what she was going to lose sleep over. The funniest moment was when one PE teacher wrote on my school report that my basket ball was a “cause for concern”.

I think it bothered them so much because I was physically fit, I just didn’t want to play their stupid games.
