What is up with people all of a sudden identifying as another nationality?

  • Seems a lot of Americans claim to be Irish or Italian, though. What they mean is that their lineage is Irish or Italian from a few generations back or whatever. It's really weird.

    • I mean you can live in America and still be Irish. Also if they live in mostly irish city and have family from Ireland and have irish traditions and culture. Why would you consider them not Irish? Of course they identity as that.
