You should add “Make America Great Again” to the list.

I mean, it's *technically* not a lie. To the people that voted for him, building a pointless wall (fun fact: most immigrants come by overstaying visas, which a wall would do nothing about) and destroying the Earth's ecosystem IS making America great again. Somehow.

To be fair with that vague of a saying it could literally mean great compared to any time period in its history.

Communism (same as socialism) being a better system than capitalism. Capitalism has MANY flaws but its a way better system than communism.

I thought that whole 72 virgins thing was just a myth perpetuated by some westerner who didn't know anything about Islam? That's not to say that brainwashed terrorists don't still believe it, the cult leaders could still use it as an incentive to persuade young muslims to blow themselves up. Plus most so-called Christians believe a lot of myths about Jesus and the Bible that they shouldn't.

Definitely 72 virgins in paradise. Just chop off a guy's cock and he will commit suicide for any cause if he can no longer jerk off. It's just the simple nature of patheticness.

This is an excellent topic that's reminiscent of Plato's "Noble Lie". Here's a fragment of a long article that I found online.

"The Greek philosopher Plato (l. c. 428-348 BCE), in Book II of his Republic, addresses the problem of how one knows that one’s beliefs are true. His line of thought raises questions such as, 'How do you know whether your most deeply-held beliefs are valid or simply the result of your upbringing, culture, environment, and religion?' Plato attempts to answer such questions by noting a major stumbling block - the lie in the soul, a falsehood one accepts as truth at a fundamental level, which then distorts one’s interpretation of reality, of other people’s behaviors and motivations, and of one’s own vision of self and truth. ..."

Thanks OP. With 2,400 years of history, we should be able to make some progress with this issue.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly.
Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.

The bee, of course, flies anyway. Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

      I couldn't resist XD

I say, freedom rocks. Speak freely, breathe freely, and own firearms freely. We don't need no fucking King. We don't need tyranny of the soul either.
