Didnt change anything for you. You already thought that I was an american boot liker. So that just confirms it I guess.
I am an honest war hawk. Is the war in ukraine honestly enough to put boots on the ground? Nope. Is it worth spending my taxes on? Probably. If anything it gives us combat data which is gonna be worth it for a war with china. Because let's be real they are the real threat to us. Kneecaping you is apart of the game. Taking care of home issues while we have some freed up time to take care of china. 2 front war to 1 front.
What LloydAsher is missing is that while a war with China where the USA is involved is currently likely; It will largely be a naval war, with perhaps a bit of air force. It will not be the Army or Marines.
However, a air and land war in Europe between Russia and NATO was also a possibility. At this point Russia no longer has much of an Army so it becomes less likely. I agree with LloydAsher about supporting Ukraine for several reasons, including that they are essentially destroying the Russian Army and munitions stockpile necessary for Russia to mount a future war. It will take Russia several decades to rebuild - if they will have the money necessary to do so. But, that is something Russia has chosen to do believing that the short term gains in Ukraine will make it worthwhile - except that there have been no significant short term gains.
I should probably add that yes I didnt consider the army and marines not needing to be involved with china that's on a case per case basis depending on where they are needed to do the fighting.
I'm mostly betting on india wanting to gain back old territory if they side with us. As india has been playing both sides to the ukrainian conflict hopefully they see what disaster that would of been to fully back the russians.
India may be working with crap equipment but they are the best mountain fighters we could gain and that could put some pressure on Beijing to keep its rear secured Himalayan mountains or not.
That being said I think russia needs to be tossed from the security counsel, china too. Should of added the inclusion of a way to throw out members for their current actions not for technicalities we could BS through like if Russia isnt a continuation state of the USSR or that China is actually Taiwan. Granted with that logic the UK will probably be tossed out too but they can be added back, maybe add Germany and japan to the council to balance it back out.
I think being run by a dictator should exclude you from being on the security council.
