What is the lump in my neck?

I've had a lump in my neck, closer to my collar bone, for a few weeks now; it's the size of a quarter, hurts when I touch it, and is very, very firm. It's sort of like a giant marble. I blew it off hoping it would just go away. My boyfriend checked it out to see if maybe it was a knot from working out, but even he's concerned.

Any suggestions?

    Probably staff u should go see a doc or it could be a cyst but u should still go get it checked out

    maybe its a swollen gland, thats usually the first sign of a strep infection or mono

    Yeah, sound like a wee cyst you want to get removed by a doctor before it gets any bigger.

    I have one on my neck on the left side. Doctor said it was a cyst and was normal but if it starts to grow then come back. I have had it for a couple years. It's like a marble and is hard so it sounds like te same thing.
