What is the longest period of time you have gone without sleeping?

What is the longest amount of time you have gone without sleeping and what was the experience like for you?

The world record (without stimulants) is officially 264 hours (11 days), but other sources claim it's 18 days or more.

  • About 4 days. I remember seeing my skin flaking off everywhere (it wasn't really).
    It just generally sent me a bit loco.
    That was with stimulants though, so I was probably a bit wound up, anyway. But compared to other stories I've heard, 4 days is amateur.

  • 7 days and nights.My granny was sick and we had to nurse here round the clock.Had to go to the hospital,they shot me up w/ ativan in the afternoon,I finally went to sleep at 10pm that night.

  • Four days. There was a power outage a few years back and the cold kept me from falling asleep.

  • I couldn't sleep for a week n didn't sleep normally probly over a month when I was kicking my drug habit

  • I have driven for over 37 hr's and played online poker for 37 hr's went broke and drank beer after until I settled down enough to sleep. When I was a locksmith I would stay busy for 48 hr's or longer.

  • Up to 4 and a half days...i can tell that i was occasionally having OBEs.

  • 5 days and nights, but I had some chemical help. We were sailing from Shelbern Nova Scotia to Toronto and the fog was so thick I couldn't see the bow of the boat from the wheel house. I sat at the radar and gave courses to whoever was on the helm.
