If personality is everything why not date your own sex? Who could understand you (or me) better? But no, you go after women which means on some level the attraction is purely carnal.
Although looks play a part in the end I'd much rather have an "Ok" looking girl at my side than one who looked drop dead gorgeous and had the personality of a wombat.
