I just can't imagine that there is a higher purpose to human existence. We are just a freak of evolution, nothing more. We live, we procreate, we die, like every other living thing. Hopefully it's a good life, full of happiness and love.
If we are simply material beings made of atoms and composed of nothing more than that (time+matter+chance), why would it matter that we live 'a good life, full of happiness and love'?
But if you believe you are simply composed of atoms and nothing more (i.e. a belief or world view of absolute materialism) why in a bigger sense does it matter at all that you live a good life?
What is the highest purpose of human existance?

Doesn't the quality of the life you have matter to you at all?

Of course it does matter to me... and to you.
But if you believe you are simply composed of atoms and nothing more (i.e. a belief or world view of absolute materialism) why in a bigger sense does it matter at all that you live a good life?
For many it's a life of poverty, disease, and war.

Unfortunate, but true.
