What is the deal with german fashion?

What is the deal with German fashion? No matter where I go, all I see is very girly, dreadfull, frilly, flowery, colorfull things that don't suit me. I usually dress sort of layed back punk or tomboy. (Without wearing men's clothing b.t.w) I detest colorfull and girly things and I also find the shoes here silly, impractical, and repulsive. I stick out like a sore thumb and I deel very ugly so I should conform here. It would be going against everything that I stand for but I am sick and tired of being stared at like some sort of freak. I am very fair skinned and I had dyed my hair black in the US and the Germans stared at me like crazy. I stripped all of black out that I could and dyed it a typical german reddish brown color. Apparantly though that wasnt good enough. It also seems to me that the women here really like the color purple and purple s*** was on display at several stores and magazines. ( nothing but purple) They dont seem to like my tatts and peircings either. They are Yuppies. Is it normal for me to feel this way or am I just weird or too American? Is my style too relaxed? And the girls are SO scared of getting dirty. Ohh..and also.. what is the deal with all the layers and scarves? Its like 22C out. Hmmm? Pussies.

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • You sound hostile towards Germans. They have their own style, you sound very emo, which I know are mostly angry at the world and like Satan. Not all Americans like emo style. So you would be out of place in some areas in the US. Try watching schizer movies, it will connect you with the true heart of the German people.

Also, BMI of 22 is chubby.

    • btw... a BMI is normal until 24. Which means I am ok. I would say I would never wear a swimsuit that shows my chub but Im NOT obese.Obese BMI is over 30 and overweight starts at 25. But yes I AM a little chubby.

  • Look at the uniforms of the Nazi Party, preferably those of the SS. Now, if you have any taste in fashion you'll acknowledge just how fashionable those uniforms were. You''l acknowledge that the Germans did have a good sense of fashion.

  • I had no idea that was German? I don't know much about fashion though.

  • Not to offend, but are you telling me that German women dress classy and are typically of redhead-ish-ness? You just sealed the deal on my overseas request.
Shoulda stayed in US. Girls wear whatever the hell they want here and there's a guy to fancy every style.

  • I already gave up on comprehending of german fashion. Besides all those disgusting purple, flowery colors all stuff they wear or sell is just so... antisexual.
But hello, I am a woman and actually proud of it.Try to find some nice high-heel boots in Frankfurt.
    Bummer.
