What is the best part of a pizza?

Me and my boyfriend a having a bit of a debate, he believes the crust is the best part of a pizza, I believe it is the middle bit with all the toppings. What do you think?

    If that's the case, why doesn't he just eat plain breadsticks? I don't hate the crust, but the main point of both pizza and sandwiches is clearly the middle part.

    I love all the pizza but love the crust especially when it's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

    It's the crust with the sauce; that's the soul of the pizza.
    Toppings come and go. Toppings are interchangeable. What's a topping? It could be anything. Don't get me wrong, toppings are great. But when I was a kid I used to pick mine off and just eat the crust, with the sauciness that was leftover.
    The base and crust is what makes a pizza a pizza; it's the best part.

      I tried that last week and loved it. I like how it made the toppings the feature instead of the doughy bread.

      If sauce is a topping than is pizsa just bread? I kind of think of sauce as a basic element of the pizza itself rather than a topping.

        I guess it is a basic element. A basic element that should taste good. I've had pizzas with sauce so awful that not even the bacon and other meaty treats on it could mask it's flavor. lol
