What is everyone doing to keep busy during these lock downs?

  • I run only two. The speakers I run right now are Sony SS-U531AV.
Not anything to brag about but found them for $20 for a pair at thrift. Excellent condition.
They are sealed box, pressed board with simulated wood finish. Rated at 275 watts max, however, as they are old, I wouldn't run them at even 1/2 that power. I do not want to find out if they could be driven to that. My receiver doesn't produce 275 wpc anyways.

I cannot complain about the sound, though they are not likely fit for "audiophile" purposes, they do not sound bad.

The VU needles in a receiver or cassette deck are nice, gives it a high tech look.

When I was a kid, I used to obsess over stereo equipment but the only thing I could afford was some Realistic Clarinette 116 stereo. AM/FM cassette turntable all-in-one. Even today though, I still think it was pretty nice for what it was. It was the first stereo I ever bought with my own money. And, I wish I still had it, even if for nostalgic purposes.

BTW, is the Marantz model 2275 what you had in mind? VERY nice but the wallet will take a beating.
