curious about the general idea over what common sense means
It's the ability to zoom out and find the best solution to a problem. Then zoom back in and fix it.
The jury in court represents society in general. That is why they are a lot more people. ….They represent common sense, the law doesn't. That is justice when its time to sentence your smart ass to 25 with an "L". COMMUN SENSE.
its bullshit used to push agendas & accuse those who disagree of bein senseless
theres very little everyone can agree on
Actually the majority of human behavior is identicle from one person to another, but is so engrained you don't pay attention.
It's only the trivial stuff we disagree on.
When a fool goes against engrained knowledge, we say they lack common sense.
A good example of this is the poster who claimed he shit himself and no one noticed or knew. That moron lacks common sense, which dictates that of course people would have known.
I think he lacks a lot more than common sense.
Like perhaps the ability to get laid.
But yeah, "common sense" is basic survival knowledge that most people should have gained early in life. OR at least know enough about certain things to draw conclusions about other things. Maybe like -
Electricity powers toasters.
Electricity travels through water, AND it hurts or kills humans.
So common sense would say - do not put a plugged-in toaster in the bathtub with you.
