What is a normal age to learn about the school to prison pipeline

A quarter of all incarcerated people in the whole world are locked up in the US. A lot of stories about Pablo Escobar and the war on drugs end at the time when cartels get busted. But what happens next was Reagan devised this whole war on black people, sorry I mean drugs and created this massive industry, we call the prison industrial complex. We even have private prisons that you can own stock in. When they sign a contract they will ensure 90%+ occupancy and will work with politicians to pass legislation ensuring enough arrests take place that result in prison sentences.

The saddest part is when you look at recidivism rates and read statistics as to how prisons actually INCREASE crime, and the presence of a prison makes a community less safe. Which makes a lot of sense when you think about the chances a child will get having parents that are felons or incarcerated throughout their upbringing, as well as how everyone locked up instead of participating in the economy becomes an expense to the community.
