I'm not religious or a church-goer, but I can easily answer on behalf of religious people I know. Religious people are just normal people. Most of the religious people I know aren't weirdos and I don't think any of them would react weirdly. They might be confused about what you thought the point of doing this was, or offended that you were trying to get a reaction out of them, but then they'd continue about their day.
I suppose some hardline conservative fundamentalists might be displeased, but they aren't the majority of church-goers I know.
What if an emo/goth went to your church?
