What has vladimir putin accomplished in ukraine?

I really don’t watch much news or TV, but I do sometimes read stuff on my smartphone. But as far as from what you know or have gathered: Who is winning the war right now in Ukraine? And what has Vladimir Putin been able to accomplish or what has been the results so far of the Russia/Ukraine war? Will Putin maybe end up nuking them??

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Putin has demonstrated that he, and Russia, does not care or honor any international agreement or treaty that they have signed and ratified - unless its convenient at the moment for them to honor it.

The same is true about business contracts.

The result of the above is that Putin, and other Russian leaders and companies, will face trial in international courts for a variety of War Crimes and breached business contracts. No one will ever trust Russia again up front on such agreements; and Russia companies are likely going to be forced to pay cash in advance for lots of things.

Putin has solidified NATO far more than it has ever been, and expanded it as well (with Finland and Sweden to be full members within a year); and I project Ukraine will become a NATO member once Russia is kicked out of the internationally recognized Ukrainian Borders (which Russia has at least twice validated in international agreements prior to 2014).

NATO was starting to fall apart as it had no apparent purpose. In another decade I doubt it would have existed if Putin had not invaded Ukraine. Now it has a real purpose - even stronger than when the USSR existed.

Putin has also managed to destroy most of the Army equipment and virtually all of its Army reputation. No one sees them with any real effective land based weaponry at this point and their troops are essentially amateurs without any kind of decent command and control structure. Much of this is because of the corruption that occurred in the Military under Putin.

Finally perhaps the biggest accomplishment is that Putin has turned Russia into a country that no one really wants to do business with; and it may be many decades before that changes. Russia may survive as a country, but it may survive as a 2nd world country and might sink to 3rd world status.

Achieved possibly the lowest Civilian Casualty rate percentage ever.

Because of the attitudes towards the SMO of both Eastern Ukrainians and Russians, civilian strikes are practically nonexistent, which is almost unheard of in modern wars where carpet-bombing is seen as a very attractive way to destroy a nation quickly.
Over 3,000,000 Ukrainian refugees have relocated to Russia, and citizens of annexed regions are granted status

Iraq War civilian casualty rate : 77%
WWII civ cas rate : 60%
    Israeli-Palestinian civ cas rate : 59%-69%
Lebanon War civ cas rate : 85%
Korean War civ cas rate : 67%
Vietnam War civ cas rate : 65%

380,000+ civilians have died violent deaths due to direct conflict reactions to 9/11
6,450 civilians have died in Ukraine according to the United Nations, as per 5 days ago.

That’s why progress is slow going, stood still, or even reversing. Precision strikes and tiptoeing on egg shells doesn’t win wars quickly. Russians are growing restless with Putin’s carefulness and his fear of death.
Putin is highly highly sensitive to life-loss, which is a relatively new attitude here. Soviet style war wasn’t afraid of cannon fodder, Putin wants to withdrawal if the situation looks even the slightest bit uneasy.

The War in Ukraine is not like the wars in the Middle East, the amount of evacuations and humanitarian operations happening is next level. Everything is so damn careful I’m back to referring to it as a Special Military Operation again these days. Putin needs to decide whether we are at war or not, and act like it.

The bad inteligence and blatant lying by everyone in the chain of command doesnt help the russian progress either. Such as the pontoon crossings that russia tried 7 seperate times and they all ended the same way. Mass artillery bombardment.

The human wave tatic really only works when you understand what each wave is going against.
