  • I have a bit of fear because I don't want to get hurt. I do tell myself that she's wonderful and perfect but I know that she'll never go for a guy like me.

    • That's really sad. There's someone out there for everyone; you just have to be open to the idea that you could very well be the person someone else is looking for.

      • I completely agree and I'm a strong supporter of the belief that there is someone out there for everyone. However, in a high school setting, true love is very hard to find and I actually want to have a real relationship. I know that there are girls who look for real relationships as well, but I feel that that... I'm unworthy of them? I feel that they could do better than me because they're so much more secure than I am, if that makes sense. We all have our idiosyncrasies but I'm afraid that mines are too weird for someone like her. I'm just going to wait until I have a job and am outside of high school until I start dating. But I do honestly believe that I will meet my future wife someday, just not in the social jungle that is high school. Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it.

        • You're welcome. I don't want to sound like the person who doesn't believe in young love or anything (since I'm only 19) but "love" in high school is a tricky thing because most high school students are all so young both physically and emotionally that they will change greatly as they get older. So who you think you are compatible with now, may or may not be that way in a few years.

I would say just focus on your education so that if you ever did want to go to college, you'd be able to get in to the one you wanted. And trust me, college is a much better place than high school.

          • Trust me, I always put my education first. I am looking forward to the people I'll meet in college. I mean it doesn't sound like there's too much pressure or judgement. Frankly, it sounds nice.

Also, high school love is tricky. People don't so much act like themselves, but more like how people expect to act. It's kind of sad but understandable. Love is something that I'm sure I'll find someday, but not in high school.
